Oilfeld MCC Room /Motor Control Center

"MCC room" (Motor Control Center), which is a prefabricated indoor or outdoor compact power distribution equipment that integrates switchgear and low-voltage distribution devices according to a specific wiring scheme.

     Features

The motor control center controls the motors in various areas of the well site, including the drilling platform, mud pump room, mud circulation area, oil tank area, boiler room, logging power supply, blowout prevention device, and hydraulic station. It also provides lighting and living power for the well site. There are approximately 6 control cabinets (of the MNS type) for the MCC. Power supply is controlled through various circuit breakers, relays, and contactors.

     Configuration

The core components of the MCC (Motor Control Center)
    1. Cabinet structure
Standard cabinets (GCS type, GGD type) + various functional units (DC cabinets, electromagnetic brake cabinets, switch cabinets, soft start cabinets, explosion-proof plug-in outlet cabinets); basic framework (base, wall, top cover, insulation layer) + accessories (top lifting lugs, operation room, wiring trough)
    2. Core electrical components
Circuit breakers (drawer type / frame type), contactors, soft starters / frequency converters, solid-state relay boards
    3. Control and protection devices
PLC system, intelligent protectors / thermal relays, power limiters, status monitoring components (LED indicators, ammeters, timers, communication interfaces)
    4. Auxiliary systems
Surge suppression circuits, cooling equipment (axial flow fans), insulation and protection components (fuses, choke coils, capacitance and resistance absorption devices)

    Benefits

The main advantages of MCC rooms:
    1. Ensuring personnel safety
    2. Economic benefits
    • Reducing energy consumption
    • Reducing the cost of the well team's power supply system
    • Reducing the labor intensity of the well team's power distribution staff and lowering installation costs.
    3. Truly achieving prefabrication of the power distribution system
    4. Facilitating the upgrading and renovation of the system
